When you take one of the most successful video game franchises of all time and mix in one of the most popular sub-genres of all time you know you’re in for a wild ride. The latest injection of zombie-fuelled mayhem into the Call of Duty series continues with Infection, part of the Ascendance DLC and as you can see from the trailer, no punches have been pulled, no bullets have been wasted and very few brains have been left uneaten.
If at some point you start to think you recognise some of the character voices, or even that some of the characters themselves look a little like an actor you can’t quite place, we’ll ruin the fun for you right now. It stars John Malkovich, Rose McGowan, Jon Bernthal and Bill Paxton as the four protagonists who start off on the outskirts of the mutant-ravaged Atlas Corporation facility and decide to battle their way through hordes of undead.
There’s new guns, new traps and new baddies, and it all looks gloriously rendered for the ultimate showcase on the next-gen consoles and those with meaty PCs. Available now for the Xbox One and 360 and at the end of April for the PS4, PS3 and PC.
