Porsche Boxter Spyder

Porsche is in the news again and this time it’s revisiting a popular modern design for its Boxter roadster – the Boxter Spyder. Initially released in 2010 and going on to garner a bit of a cult following, the 2015 revision is described as “a radical return to the origins of the roadster” and delivers more of the same with a range of updates and design tweaks to help it stand out from the crowd.

Grabbing the 2.8 litre flat-six engine from the 911 Carrera S should get it off to a good start, which offers 370bhp, 4.5 seconds 0-62mph and a 180mph top speed, making it the fastest Boxster ever created, and with a similar buttress design behind the seats to its predecessor this extra power should be well hidden from the uninitiated.

Not that you’d really want it to be for over £60k, which is half as much again over the base 2.7 litre model, though we wouldn’t expect this to stop it selling out in double-quick time.
